2025 Vogue Met Gala Portfolio
The Met Gala 2025 centered on the history and influence of the Black dandy, with Vogue’s official portfolio translating that theme into a multi subject editorial spanning film, music, art, and sport.
Photographed by Tyler Mitchell and styled by Law Roach, the project brought together over forty individuals. Serving as Creative Director to Law Roach, Ali Hussainy led the historical research and visual development supporting the portfolio’s direction, while also overseeing project management across a large volume of talent and an extended styling team.

Ali drew from the history of the Black dandy across decades, tracing its presence through different cultural eras and cities, along with its influence on tailoring and self presentation. These references informed the visual language of the shoot, shaping wardrobe, set direction, and casting.
His approach focused on translating multiple eras of dandyism into both group compositions and individual portraits, allowing each subject to sit within a broader historical framework while maintaining a distinct point of view.
The result was a 25 page portfolio centered on tailoring and dandyism, applied across a wide range of talent and executed across two cities.
