Wicked: For Good

For the final chapter of Wicked, the press tour required a visual approach that could reference the legacy of The Wizard of Oz while remaining grounded in contemporary fashion. Working as Creative Director to Law Roach, Ali Hussainy led research and visual development for Ariana Grande’s press tour wardrobe. Ali drew from the broader cinematic history of Oz, along with its influence across fashion, musicals, and popular culture.

For the London premiere, Ariana wore a 1952 Gilbert Adrian dress, the original costume designer for The Wizard of Oz. Ariana also wore Adrian for the NBC special Wicked: One Special Night.

Ariana paid homage to Lena Horne as Glinda in The Wiz, in custom Thom Browne.

While attending the New York City premiere, Ariana wore custom Schiaparelli by Daniel Roseberry inspired by MGM stars of the golden age of Hollywood.
